A recent study according to theglobeandmail.com has shown that over 62 percent of Canadians who invest in the stock market, feel optimistic in their decisions while investing. In addition, the stock investment newsletters have pointed out that there is a difference between male and female investors, where generally men will take more risks which may also increase loss in the long term.
Regardless of this, male investors tend to invest more in equities at a 25 percent rate compared to women at a 13 percent rate. It is clear from this particular survey that male investors are by far more prominent in the stock market and tend to take more risks for bigger growths and rewards than women.

I don’t think this is specific to the Canadian stock market, but rather to every market. Men are inherently more risk-tolerant than women (in aggregate, of course). It’s nice to see the optimism from everybody. We could use all the confidence we csn get, even if it’s from investors as opposed to CEOs.
